Does PIES Studio Hobby work offline?
Yes. PIES Studio Hobby runs entirely on your desktop. There is no server to run and no telemetry. The editor, the built-in database, local builds, all 35 industry templates with their sample data, and PIES Private AI Micro all work with no internet connection.
You need to be online for three things only:
- Downloading the installer, which needs a free PIES account.
- The one-time download of the Micro model (about 4.9 GB) when you first switch Private AI on in AI Settings.
- Connecting a cloud AI model, if you choose to use your own key for bigger builds. That is optional.
After that, you can work with the network off. The apps you build run locally with a real database, and you can export their source code and run it without PIES.
